Last Updated on

About

This page has the list of mandatory steps that LITE Faculty members are required to coordinate with their Institution/University towards integrating the LITE Advanced Web Development courses as part of Minor Degree (or) Open Electives, along with respective templates for faculty members, institutions and universities for execution.

Status of integration for your institute

We have listed the status of integration of all existing LITE institutions in this dashboard. You can check this dashboard if you are unsure whether your institution is already a part of LITE program or to understand the current status of integration. If your institution is currently not part of LITE, we will update the dashboard with the status of your institution once you have initiated the integration process.

How to integrate LITE Advanced Web Development courses

Here are the detailed steps for Advanced Web Development integration, kindly read through them carefully, and you may use the respective templates for executing each of the steps.

Step 1: Submit your LITE FDP Application

Faculty Members can submit LITE FDP Application to start the journey to bring NEP 2020 Model Classrooms into reality.

Step 2: Sign the LITE MoU

a. New Institutions

Interested institutions can sign the MoU to integrate the advanced web development courses as Minor Degree/Open Electives.

Once your institution has signed the MoU from your end, please share it with us at wd@pupilfirst.org, so that we can execute the same.

b. Existing LITE Institutions

  • Institutions who have already signed the LITE MoU with us, are required to re-execute the MoU using this template, since we have updated some important clauses including scholarship admissions.

  • While re-executing the MoU, your institution can opt for integrating our courses as Open Electives instead of Minor Degree based on interest and as per university regulations.

Step 3: Get Regulatory Approvals for integrating Model Curriculum

Before starting the student admissions, it is mandatory for institutions to get the required regulatory approvals for integrating the LITE NEP 2020 Model Curriculum as Minor Dergee or Open Electives.

Approval Process For Different Institute Types

Please choose the right Institute Group that you belong to for identifying if you need only internal institute approval or both internal institution and parent university approvals.

Group A) Public, Private, Deemed/Deemed-to-be universities and Institutes of Eminence

Approval from Academic Council/Board of Studies/Board of Governance/Board of Management is only required for integrating the courses as Minor Degree/Open Electives.

Group B) Autonomous Institutions

If you are selecting integration of LITE Course as Open Electives, then approval from Institute Academic Council is only requirement.

If you are choosing for integrating LITE courses as Minor Degree, then follow process in Group C and get additional approval from Parent University.

Group C) Affiliated, Standalone, Constituent Institutions and Polytechnics

Approval from Parent University and approval from Institute Academic Council are both required for integrating the courses as Minor Degree/Open Electives.

Important note:

  1. Your institution can work in parallel towards getting the approvals from the Parent University and Institute Academic Council, so there is no delay for you to move to the next step.

  2. If you do not understand the approval steps clearly or am need of any clarification, please write to us at wd@pupilfirst.org, so that we can assist you further.

Step 4. Allocate class hours for the courses

Since the advanced web development courses as Minor Degree/Open Electives will be part of the academic work of students, it is mandatory for institutions to allocate at least 3-4 class hours per week for students to take the courses in their timetable. Institutions can also leverage the existing timeslots for Electives to integrate our courses.

Step 5. Start Student Admissions

Institutions that successfully completed all the above steps, will be considered for student admissions in the Feb 2023 batch, and a student admissions guide along with the next steps including tentative timelines will be shared with them.

Institutions that do not complete all the abovementioned steps by the prescribed deadline (refer to the Pathway for Integration diagram above for respective deadlines), can still continue to work towards completing the integration, and they will be considered for admissions in the upcoming batches.
